Re: Maine Moose
Congrats. Never hunted moose up there but do a lot of fishing in the state as i am from n Massachusetts. I would look far north- Aroostook would probably be a good area to start. Good luck-hunt of a lifetime! Hope to see pics of a massive bull.
Mmmmm…back strap

Re: Maine Moose
Will be in zone 1. Flying in pretty far north and I am expecting a killer hunt in this zone.
Boy did I get lucky!
May film it so I can share the experience

Re: Maine Moose
I have a friend went there and shot a cow. They essentially drove logging roads until they spotted moose and got out and shot one. Something tells me that’s not the info you’re looking for…but congrats on the tag. Hope it’s a blast. My friend did say it’s worth bringing a shotgun or 22 for grouse as they are very common in some areas.
Some do. Some don't. I just might...

What dates are your tag good for? Never hunted Main but I've done lots of moose hunting, called quite a few in but now I mostly draw November tags and track them. Moose are a pretty easy animal to track (not so easy to recover though), and where I live the late tags are easyer to draw.
They say millwrights can fix anything except a broken heart, but I've even got a tool that can do that!

Re: Maine Moose
My week was oct 9 through Oct 14. Show a small bull a few days in. Called him right to us.
Essentially it was a lot of travel on logging roads and such. Not a bad hunt. Just different.
I am stockpiled on meat now!
