My 2018 western Hunting Trips & Results

Unread postby PeteD » Fri Oct 12, 2018 12:46 pm

First up was Utah Mtn Goat. It only took me 20 years of applying to draw the tag!

Second up was NM archery Elk. A tough hunt as they where extremely call shy... adverse actually. Got lucky and pulled out a last day last minute bull.

Last up was WY elk. My eldest drew a tag so I played the "guide" roll. We waded through a bunch of bulls to find one that was not broke up bad from the intense rut action.

Hunt like beast!

I would recommend applying in Idaho for the best odds and fastest path to a Mtn Goat tag. Just have to spring for the hunting license every year. Apply for Mtn Goat and if you dont draw go elk hunting :)

I didn't know you had mountain goats there, I thought they were only present on other continents!
Do they taste good when barbecue'd? Or, better, roasted on a spike?
