I’m looking at something with more padding for comfort.
Insoles are an option too but the first boots were cheap.
I’m looking at crispi and Salomon boots. Maybe Lowa.

I have some Lowa Tibets wide, and they are great boots, but even in wide they are too narrow for my feet. I think Lowa's tend to run narrow.

I now wear the Crispi Nevada wide and they fit much better. They are not as robust as the Lowa Tibets which have a stiffer sole and a little more padding, but the Nevada is a good boot for the easy to medium terrain that I have hunted out west.

Awesome workout today.

If anybody has any suggestions for boots to check out I’m all ears.
My group is planning another hike before we leave for Colorado so I’d like to get better boots before then.
My group leaves August 29 and I believe we’re hunting through September 12 now. Someone got extra vacation.
56 days till it’s here.

Our group is going to do a zoom chat to look at online scouting for our trip. Something different but it’ll be a good learning experience and it’ll help nail down some ideas.

I am headed out to shoot the Total Archery Challenge tomorrow. I will be shooting sat and sun with some fishing in between. The Colorado site is right in the middle of some world class rivers. Bows and ‘bows are always a good time.

2.5 hour zoom chat tonight. Think it was very beneficial. Narrowed down a game plan, areas to cyber scout more, gear, etc......
We’re all supposed to mark some more spots before Wednesday evening to discuss. We’re also trying to get another hike on the calendar.
Around 50 days till we leave for Colorado so it’s getting close

It’s almost here!
Been getting more intense with workouts. Weights and cardio 5 days a week. The knee has come a long way.
Shooting the bow a couple times a week.
Ordered a fly rod for the trip.
Our group has put a lot of work into prepping for this.
Very excited to take it all in.

A huge thanks to Camelcluch!

No worries. You all are going to have a great time. The first year is tough just because your mind spins with information.

Today was spent in the ER with chest pains.
I’m fine.
Stress and acid reflux were the culprits.
A little scary though.
See the doc tomorrow to get a better handle on all this.
He said I’m still good for Colorado

Update:

Went to the doc today.
Started a large dosage 2 times a day for severe acid reflux. Each week I’ll cut down a little. If I have any flare ups I need to go in for a scope to check for cancer.
My doc figured this is mostly stress related based on the info I gave him but the word cancer is a little scary.
Good news is he gave me the go ahead for Colorado.

By the way, turning 40 has really sucked...
