Rope Mod! Over or Under

Unread postby Odd1out » Tue Jul 28, 2020 2:22 pm

Just switched to the rope mod on my beast sticks and was wondering which way yo wrap the rope first? Over the button then pull tight or under the button first and pull tight? Which way is right?

I go under. Not saying this is the correct way though. I’ve seen YouTube videos of people doing both. I will be checking back to see what others do.

I just recently switched to 1/4in amsteel from 9mm static rope. The amsteel so far isn’t locking as well as the static rope but the amsteel gets rid of bulky knots and is light.

I go over the button with at least one half hitch after that. Seems to lock pretty well

I got under thinking that the weight then is pushed down onto the main line.
