In Nebraska. Other than corn what does Nebraska have cause the view is pretty boring from the truck? So flat and endless.

Good luck out there. And I always enjoyed driving through Nebraska, big country. Great state and hunted it once and can't wait to go back. You should see it in March during the crane migration. People come from all over the world to see that.

Waiting in a Walmart parking lot for them to open so we can buy tags.
Slept in the truck last night. Pulled in around 2 am.

Re: Colorado 2020 elk archery hunt
I finally have service.
So, here’s a recap so far.
3 days of scouting.
Found some really good areas to hunt.
First day Got into 2 bulls screaming their heads off. Our group was in good position but 2 other hunters were bugling while not playing the wind. Bye bye bulls!
Second day one of my buddies allergies went nuts so while he went to town we hit another spot.
Had a bull sneak in to 45 yards after we bugles around 830 am. He snuck out.
We hit a bench around 1030 with a bull screaming in the bottom under it. 2 other bulls came in. We ran to get in front of them to keep the wind and thermals right and at 1150 I arrowed a nice 5*5 at 20 yards.
We snuck out and came back to track about 2 hours later.
Where I shot the bull there was fresh droppings.
When we got back another hunter had taken a stick and checked the droppings to see how old they were.
We’re guessing the bull got bumped.
My shot was directly behind the shoulder with him quartering ever so slightly towards me.
I didn’t get a pass through but my arrow was stayed in with about 4” sticking out. Blood was very dark.
We spent a day and a half tracking but with minimal blood that peetered out after a couple hundred yards it was tough.
I saw a nice 4*4 the next day.
Since then temps have went up to the high 70s and Bulls have went quiet.

Re: Colorado 2020 elk archery hunt
Pulled out today after the snowstorm happened. We tried another spot for a couple hours but never got a response or cut a track.
Supposed to get rain tomorrow do we decided to head for home.
The trip was awesome and we learned a ton. We are now planning on making this a every 2 or 3 year voyage.
