Drawing results came out a few weeks ago. I drew a great elk tag. Pretty excited. Looking forward to this fall!

Cold bow challenge. One shot/only shot, 103 yards and fixed pin site. My furthest pin is set for 80 yards.

Distance helps out here so make sure to back up a little.

Nice? Do elk have red dots on their bodies?

I was just talking with a friend that is going for his first time. He's getting an either sex tag but I don't know what area he'll be in... any and all advice I could pass along to him would be greatly appreciated. I know he said his friend has a lodge on a good chunk of land and behind it is thousands of acres of public. he's taking his stick and string. definitely a bucket list item for me as well. he's pretty much getting the outfitter experience without having to pay for it which is badass. I'm tighter than two coats of paint so any future hunting trips for me will be DIY. not hating on anyone who can afford it... to each their own!

Advice:

Get in shape
Shoot with your pack on for practice
Get a good pair of comfy boots and break them in

Call biologists in the area you are going to hunt

I plan on elk hunting every year now.
I’m hooked
And yes, I messed up the year

I got word today that my buddy backed out. I’ll have a few days to get out before I leave for Alaska. Can’t wait to hear September bugles.

Got some huge news this week.

Will be sharing elk camp for a couple days with camelcluch.
Very excited! Hopefully we put one down but just awesome to finally meet him in person. He’s been a huge help the last 2 seasons with questions and suggestions.
