I live near Sinnemahoning and three years ago my friend got bitten while participating in the hunt. No thanks! I see enough of them, I see no need to hunt them.

Saw this one while scouting in February, it had warmed up to 63 degrees that day. This was the first of two I saw that day. It was not dangerous at all, it could barely move.

That sucks he got bit. Ill have tongs and snake boots and have handled constrictors a lot so i think i can handle it. Thats awesome you run across them often, ive walked the VA mountains for years and all ive came across was a baby copperhead, still had the yellow on its tail.

I see this a lot too, stretched out on a dirt road. This one I think someone cut the rattle off of because it had none. Very dangerous, and I wish people wouldn't do that

I’ve caught a few... the competition is pretty high... def caught more females then males.. and hate when people pop the rattles off snakes or harvest snakes illegally... there won’t be a season soon if they keep being greedy and selfish!

Almost steeped on 3 of them in the last 5 years in the SW corner of the state during the spring. In a way I think it’s pretty cool but at the same time very disturbing when I see them.
It feels like the population has been rising steadily over the last several years in my area.

I had one constrict my arm once. A buddy distracted it with a stick while I caught it behind the head. My hand was turning dark purple by time we got it off lol. Clinton county PA there are a ton of them.
It's all fun and games till someone looses an eye..... then its just fun
