Going after a Merriam Turkey

Morning,
I am going after a Merriam turkey for the first time. what states have best numbers and public i can hunt?

I've killed a several in the black hills of South Dakota and Wyoming and a couple in western Nebraska and Eastern Montana.
Numbers are not close to what they once were in south dakota and Nebraska and pressure has tripled. If you're a decent caller and not afraid to put in the miles you can kill one in the black hills.

I've seen them in SE Colorado while hunting muleys.
