Pheasant/Duck hunt

Unread postby Chuck B » Thu Oct 27, 2022 1:23 pm

Once a year (sometimes twice) I go to SW MN for some duck and pheasant hunting with a few buddies. Bird camp is a great time. Something that is more social, involves our dogs, and a few cold ones each evening around the fire. We work pretty hard for the public land birds, but it’s a good time. My chocolate lab is 3.5 and is getting really impressive with both pheasant and duck which makes it very fun to watch. A few pics from last weeks hunt.

Sounds like a great time. I've always wanted to pheasant hunt with my lab, for now we're stuck to ducks and geese

Very cool and congrats! Deer will always be number one, but I'll never give up chasing birds either.

I don't want to wish time away, but something I look forward to as I get older is to hunt deer and birds BOTH at a very high level.

The extreme highs of a big buck coming into your set is unmatchable. But coming in 2nd place is dawn on the ponds when the ducks are flying everywhere. Those 20 minutes are magic and very fun.
