2021 shed thread

Unread postby Mr. Lehey » Tue Jan 05, 2021 3:04 am

I know it’s still early but I’m hearing reports of a couple people starting to find sheds here in the Midwest. Anybody else finding any or getting pics of shed bucks?

Found this shed December 13 on the way to the stand. Trail cam shows he had the other side on December 8 but must've lost it days later.

Come on guys where are all the sheds at??? I’ve been checking everyday to see if anyone is finding any. I made only 2 short walks so far after work and haven’t found any as of yet but I know it’s still a little early.

I'm staying out of my best areas until I feel most bucks have shed. Like hunting, don't want to pressure them to go elsewhere.

It is early, but I'm always scouting and hoping to find something. A shed or deadhead is always treasure to me.

I have Monday off and really want to find the other side to the one I picked up in mid December. But I know it's too early and my target buck is living in that 20 acres now. I don't want to put anymore pressure on them now since the season ended jan 3.

The best buck I have on a property I hunt shed between 12/30 and 1/8 according to trail cams. This buck had a big wound on his one shoulder though since October. Not sure if he got hit by a car or shot, but this could have stressed him out some. I am just waiting for all snow to melt, to hopefully low impact hit the fields.

Got a few inches of snow here Saturday night and calling for another 3-6 tonight so I’ll have to postpone my shed hunting activities for a bit.
