The old saying is true.
You find what you are looking for, in the last place you look.
After getting into 4 different locations today, I came across this 4 pt from last season. And a dead head close by. Will be going there more this coming season.

Re: 2023 Shed Thread
Ventured about 3 hours to some new-to-me public to scout around for “something special” and try my hand at hill country/ mountainous terrain. Got lucky on the first spot and found a decent amount of sheds. Good number of deer in that area but it seemed to have been loaded in late season 2-3 years ago based on all them being older. No brownies and not near the amount of “fresh” sign in there from what I could tell. Found my first match set ever that were actually laying together.

Re: 2023 Shed Thread
Took a walk early last week and found a lot of 2 yro size sheds. One massive 4 pt side from last year laying in the swamp and unfortunately a bunch deadheads from EHD. All really nice bucks and a couple exceptional ones. Sucks they won’t be around to try and get after next year. When I came walking up on the one with the triple beam I was pretty blown away. It was laying 50 yards from where I found the big 4 pt. Side.

Re: 2023 Shed Thread
Walked for about an hour or so today and found the largest scrape Ive ever seen. It was in an opening in a pine plantation created from leaving a pile of tops that rotted and broke down. About 10 different shredded licking branches all above it and a freshie laying right in the middle of it. Figured he was tickling the licking branches and left something behind.

Re: 2023 Shed Thread
My son found a good one today. It is off a buck I killed in 2020, I had walked by it at least 20 times since then, but he has the eye for them. Buried in the leaves and not a chew mark on it.

Re: 2023 Shed Thread
Tough year for me. Not that I do all that great but I usually average to find 10 or so sheds a year. Only found 4 this year and I've been going hard since mid January. Had a pretty mild winter with not much snow so I think deer stay spread out more making it harder to find sheds??
