TheBig9 repair into Droppy

Unread postby muddy » Tue Mar 27, 2018 9:57 am

Just got my rack from my muzzy buck back. Took him to Tom Sexton to repair that busted off drop. We didn't see him hard horn so have no idea what it really looked like, but Tom used cam pics to get it close, I think he smacked it out of the park. The velvet was a free add on, he uses colored epoxy and I really can't tell the difference. He was trying a new technique and I wholeheartedly agreed it looks awesome.

Well crap. I forgot my phone took a dump and all the other pics of the repair, as it progressed, are on the laptop. If anyone wants to see that I'll post them up later. Here's a pic of the busted off side

Go from chocolate beer to whiskey to PBR very well rounded lol! In most cases I wouldn't have a taxi manufacture an antler cause I prefer the character of the fighter vs a point that wasn't there when I shot him. But in the case of a drop tine I honestly would, they are rare, cool and he was a legit drop tine beast. I would like to see the finished product.

Also nothing wrong with anyone who chooses to replace any broke horn, I just prefer not too.

I completely agree. I have several busted up bucks, this is the first one I've had repaired.

Funny story on that bourbon... Friday night we were doing some shopping for my buddies wife and I saw that bottle. Never had it but had heard of it. Grabbed it then put it back cuz it wasn't cheap. Told my buddy, "If I shoot The Big 9 I'll buy that stuff". Next day it was first thing in the cart on our beer run!

Pretty crazy, even knowing exactly where to look you can't find anything.

Yah it was a no brainer. He only lives 25 minutes from me. Was cool to see his shop and see some of the other things he likes working on
