Re: Would you mount this buck?
I have regretted not shoulder mounting deer. On the flip side, despite the lack of wall space I have never regretted getting one shoulder mounted, I don’t shoulder mount many, but my first solid 8 point is mounted.
Go with your gut. Euros are nice too because you can hold them in your hands.

Re: Would you mount this buck?
On the flip side one of the coolest shoulder mounts I ever saw was of an old mature doe. You just never see that and that’s why I thought it was pretty neat. Would be a perfect companion on the wall right next to a big ole’ mature buck.

Same, and about the same size. Only buck to date. And I'm stoked every time I look at him, which is usually at least once a day because he's in my office
x3, my first mount is a 100". My first racked bow buck. No regrets and get to relive the hunt anytime I want. I say go for it!

You waited a long time to tag a buck like that, and it's your best buck to date? I'd get him mounted, it's gonna look sweet on your wall.

Re: Would you mount this buck?
I asked myself the same question the last buck I got. After thinking about it for a day or two I realized that just the fact that I was questioning it I already knew the answer. And I couldn't ask anyone else because everyone else is at a different place in their hunting journey than I am. It's totally a personal decision and you will be happy with it either way you choose. That's a dandy buck either way, congrats!

He’s a beautiful buck! Euro’s do look really nice and you could always do a shoulder mount at a later time.
Regardless, that’s a really nice deer. Congratulations!

My first shoulder mount from about 25 years ago. Still holding up pretty good.
Taxidermist said he was a 1 year old. Late September kill and dressed out at 140 lbs. Can you imagine what he would have looked like at 3 or 4?
