WI Turkey

Unread postby Mountain Man » Wed Apr 28, 2021 4:13 am

Off the roost this guy had several hens and would answer some calls but not come closer. I went to another nearby spot for a while, but I could still hear him gobble occasionally off in the distance. When I could tell he was on the move, I got in front of him by 150-200 yards and set up in a deadfall. I called once he gobbled. A few minutes later I called again and he gobbled a lot closer. Then I waited. He knew right where I was. He slowly made his way to me and as soon as he cleared some brush I shot. I later ranged it at 37 yards.

24 lbs, 10.5" beard, 7/8" spurs.
