Re: A few of my bow kills, public and private.
Saturday October 7th, was my first sit of the year. It had been unseasonably hot, to hot for me to seriously go out and after an old buck. Friday over night the cold front rolled in bring WNW winds along with it. The conditions were perfect for an overgrown field bedding area that has some large oak trees along the transition to a standing corn field.
I was set up only 11 or 12 feet high in a maple that offered excellent cover. The evening offered two buck sightings. One a nice 8 point who just wasn't quite what I was looking for and this buck that stepped out with 20 minutes of legal light left. I then dropped the string on this buck at 16 yards while he was working down the transition line toward me eating acorns.

Great deer. You’ve killed a lot of big bucks. Seems like you’ve got them figured out.
