Third times a charm!
My good friend Joe got his hunting license this year, so I’ve been trying to put him on a deer. He had a shot at this buck opening day of gun, but a doe spotted him and spooked the buck off. Last night we had a small front come through so I had high hopes!
We were gonna sit until 9 and 13 minutes before backing out this buck came through and my buddy didn’t even know he was coming. I was trying to get his attention and when I finally did the buck was about 30 yards directly behind him. We thought he would keep quartering away up the hill, and all of the sudden he turned and started walking right at me! At that point I waited until he was broadside to joe and gave him the “mehhh” he stopped and my buddy hammered him!
We followed tracks for 150yards until we found blood and then 20 more yards and he tumbled down the ridge into a small bowl, dead as a door nail!
Another falls to the AR15 chambered in .223
I actually missed this buck during archery, but I’m glad he could capitalize! Now I better find me another one to chase in the late season!
Super proud of him and what a great first deer for my ol’ friend.
