This guy just gets it! He understands what it takes and knows how to get the job done. There is absolutely no substitute for woodsmanship and getting out there reading the sign. I know this from talking with this killer for a couple years now, he knows how to read sign! What more can you say about a buck like that early season, just a true giant and to boot done with a recurve. Great stuff, I love it. Again buddy, major congrats on a stunning buck!! Knowing you, it doesn’t shock me you didn’t give up on Searching for the buck but just shows staying at it and not giving up after things got tough pays off big time! My hats off to you brother!

Thanks Basin! I remember that KS giant you killed some years back with trad bow! That was one heck of a buck my friend; inspiration to me at the time no doubt about it.

I appreciate all the nice comments guys. Haven't checked in over here for awhile and just seen this.

Awesome buck! Was he bedding based on wind, visual, or noise? In hill country i find their sight plays a huge impact.

Amazing you still remember that lol
I struggled this season, lost a good 10 in Missouri in November, played heck getting a shot at a couple good ones in January then missed a Hammer two weeks ago on public. But I will push onward!
Congrats again!

Both scent and visual.
He was using visual to look out over the open hardwood transition while using the thermals of the small raised overgrown area to smell the most likely route danger would come from. Bad news for him I came from where he didn't typically encounter danger.
