First buck
First season first deer and first time in that piece of public. Shot on the ground while I was look for a tree that didn’t look dead in the swamp. About a ten yard shot and he went 20 - 30 yards. Shot with a 600 grain bolt, lost that on the pass through, need some lumenoks.
Should have brought the sled, 1200 yard drag in a tarp with 550cord is a real pita. 4 hours to the truck.
Thanks to the beast forums, podcast and YouTube. With some Eberhart, Ranch Fairy and THP in there too.

Re: First buck
Just one more. Not sure how old. Six pointer, taxidermy guy like the rack said it was unique cause of some weird gap between the points on one side. He said it probably happened when he was in velvet.
