Thanks everyone.

I forgot the best part of the story. I was pretty mad at myself when I found this buck, so I decided to drag it out, alone, 1.4 miles, to reflect on my poor judgment. I had all my stuff to quarter and pack, but wanted to teach myself a good lesson. I started dragging about 12:45 p.m. I got back to my truck at 5:50 p.m. lesson learned.

Congrats SZ!

It is such a strange emotion buyers remorse.
Rut and the speed of decision necessity surly increases the odds.
Thanks for your honesty. I get it and would never judge.
Let me know how the self abuse regimen works for the cure. Lol

Dandy buck and sounds like you had a lot of fun with all the bucks you encountered seazofcheeze.

You have to be proud of going in blind to an area and coming out with a nice buck and many buck sightings, thats what is all about.

Congratulations!

Your having a heck of a season, Congrats on another tag filled. I would rather punch my tag on a "lesser" buck than go home and eat tag soup. I have a large collection of unpunched tags that motivate me more than any inches of horn would. AND, I too like to do things the hard way, but not for an inches punishment, I'm just not very smart.

Congrats nice buck.

Mine shrunk on ground also from a tree they look bigger.

Was having a hard time figuring out if it was a 2 or 3 year old.

I know that feeling. One time I decided I was going still hunting. Quick decision wasn’t the right one. I suppose it hurts a bit more when you’ve saved up for Iowa.. sure sounds like you were in the bucks! And still shot a nice deer. Got a good workout too eh?

Planned and executed your trip and hunted one down! He’s a dandy so what if he’s a few inches off your goal, if all our wives thought like that some of us might be in trouble…. Congrats buddy! Keep up the podcast too!
