Clay "Boogieman1" Burkhart | Traditional Archery and Texas Bowhunting | Episode 20 | Going 4 Broke Outdoors Podcast

Unread postby seazofcheeze » Sun Jan 09, 2022 3:32 pm

Clay goes against the grain by hunting with traditional archery equipment on public land in the state of Texas, which is typically known for its rifle hunting and expansive private ranches. I really enjoyed my conversation with Clay and his great sense of humor. This episode highlights the practical simplicity in Clay’s approach, which consists of traditional archery equipment and no nonsense tactics. But don’t let distract you, Clay is certainly paying attention to the details, and his straight forward approach just plain works as evidenced by his results. In a world of gimmick hunting gadgets, we’d all do ourselves a favor by incorporating some of Clay’s get back to basics style this coming season. Final note, Clay and I recorded this podcast way back in early October. Clay had already killed one really nice Texas buck with his recurve and later on in the season he tagged a second, so congrats to Clay on another successful season!

Can't wait to listen to this one. I have been listening to some older ones this week on my drives to work. I can't handle morning radio anymore. Keep em coming Jeremy.

Good work. I really like clay, he has a great perspective on things.

I would also be interested in a podcast of random stories, jokes and analogies with him

Finished up today. Good stuff. The after the rain hunt is a great point that I think can work in alot of areas. Also enjoyed the camera window theory. Interesting thoughts that I have noticed in my hunting but they were layer out well here. Thanks gents.
