MN that sounds like a ton of fun. It also beats the heck out of working!! Best of luck and hope it turns out like you plan

Dan's and others comments about bucks near parking areas/roadways hit home. On walk-in, i'm pretty sure I bumped this buck between a creek and roadway. He's in a thick spot and only heard me but later circled behind and upwind when I got footage. Now I can put a plan together if I stay out of there and go for it on next sit.

At 2 I'll be heading to a public marsh area. Winds not the greatest for this spot but I'll scout my way into to a transition where I suspect good bedding. ;)

Good luck! Post some pics of the setup. I live through the pics on this thread while I'm rotting away at my desk.

Heading out very soon for my first big woods action of the year. I’ll be hunting a spot I’ve scouted earlier this year but never hunted before. Think a found his bedroom this spring. :handgestures-fingerscrossed: If the sign doesn’t look good I’ll go to plan B. Good luck everyone tonight!

Great buck Mega. He was on HIGH alert.

Good luck to everyone!

Unexpected kid duty will probably keep me out of the woods this weekend... We'll see about next week..

Here we go! Wind is perfect cross wind from left to right. Bedding is at the back of the island. See if I can make it out there.

First hunt in my JX3 Hybrid. Feels like I took my La-Z-Boy out in the tree. WOW!!

Buck bedding straight ahead. I already heard what sounded like a buck rubbing a tree straight ahead on a micro island surrounded by water.

Image

Cutting it close with the wind but I will be fine if the main trail from bedding is taken. Sometimes you gotta give them a favorable wind so they move a bit earlier. Perfect case of a just off wind. My scent is blowing to the right side of this pic off that side of the bedding island. Notice the trees in the background.

Lots of scrapes and rubs down the way from this bedding area and some big white oaks and another bedding area behind me.Got a crosswind going. Hope to at least see a bigun.
