Good luck Dhd!

Saw the poor guy hunting in the woods with the deer out in the open yesterday...

And my 3D got obliterated last night again. Apparently still some testosterone flowing in the veins??

Time is short but tonight is the last stand of the hunting season. Not going to lie, I'm disappointed. But it was a great time and effort.
Improving your skills from year to year is a sign of success that I am okay with. New ground and ending in the saddle that didn't get used last year.

Good pattern to hunt and if it's brown, it's down.

Well, like most public hunts things change.
Saddle gear was wet so grabbed the hang on and sticks.
Once I went in and picked a tree, I somehow was 25 FEET from another hunter. I had climbed a steep hillside and came around a draw right to him. Silently acknowledged and snuck back down.
The river bottom was flooded a few days back and ended up being my plan C. Sat at a vegetation edge till dark. No deer seen.
I know next year will be here in no time. Stay focused.

Heading up to a buddy’s place for this evening and tomorrow for my last two days of pa’s late flintlock season. Will also be my first hunts this year on private ground. Excited to spend some time in the woods my two buddies who I don’t get to hunt with much anymore.

Good luck to anyone else out still grinding!

We got two little drives in before the freezing rain came in and had to stop with the flintlocks. But had a blast and my buddy who lives in Virginia now was able to put down a doe this morning.

Congrats Pa! :D

Working my daughter's ski race today.

Planning an AM doe assault when it's single digits and blowing 20 mph.

About 1000 geese just left the field below me.
