As far as deer go, I only saw one big lone doe. Pretty surprising given the conditions. Oh well, I’ll be back at it in the morning. Probably try and shoot a doe if I get the chance.

Last shot with a broadhead at 30. I’m ready!

I’m putting my dad in my observation stand tonight. Wife is gone and the girls wanna cruise with me, not grandpa! ;) (strict orders lol) Gonna load up on treats and head out shortly.

Nothing to git tonight, walked about 7 miles and all I saw was some cattle. Maybe in the a.m. My deer and antelope were both on a Sunday, so not even sure why I'm hunting on Friday

Whelp. Dad saw the nice 8 that was running with the dropper, but he didn’t follow the script. Tomorrow’s wind is a little bit iffy for where he was at, and I’m not 100% he’ll repeat his actions.

Me and the girls saw a bunch of deer but no shooters. Aside from the mega I found in June. He’s 2 miles from public  but he. Is. A. HOG.

I have a feeling my decision on where to hunt won’t be made until tomorrow afternoon. Gonna check cams and do some scouting mid day. I did glass a pop up blind near an area where some bucks popped out when my Dad observed there.

Guess what they’re not there anymore ;)

I did see a nice 2 yr old pop out at one of my points of interest. He kept looking behind him but nothing ever showed  gonna go see if I can find some big sign there. Will swing for the fence if I do.

Just watched 2 does and 2 fawns run in front of the truck heading into a 30 acre piece of public that I always wrote off to easy access. Nobody hunting there either.

Drove around to check pressure this morning. It was pretty busy. Will have to adjust what I plan to do tonight.

I talked to Tyler and he found a buck nest! There’s 3 shooters in there and he’s moving in for the kill tonight. Not monsters but they’re 3 yr olds. The issue is going to be satellite deer, but his odds are high in my opinion.

My buddy Dylan did whack a public land doe this morning. I love getting kill pics. It’s the first day of my favorite time of year!!

Good luck everyone!

Doe and 2 fawns followed by a basket 6pt come feeding through just after shooting light, 2 minutes later another small 6pt come past. Was quite for the next hour, then 3 bucks come skirting threw behind me at 30 yards, one for sure shooter and a pair of 2 year old 8pts.

Patiently waiting to get out of work for an evening hunt. Got it narrowed down to 3 spots. Never actually been to the spot I leaning towards most but sure look like some nice oak islands. Scouted from the truck with the spoting scope 3 nights this week but didn't locate any of the bucks I've been keeping tabs on. Good luck out there fellas. Tough to beat that opening day feeling!
It only takes 15 seconds for the hunt of a lifetime.
