I would like him to leave so I can get situated. I’ve been sitting on the seat facing the tree to relax and now I’m stuck!

I can relate

I was on my way up a ridge where I heard acorns dropping. Almost got to the flat when I saw does and fawns headed my way. Was thinking about shooting one and then the boss doe locked on to me. Head bob, busting sticks, the whole shebang. I was stuck with all my weight on the downhill leg and bow out horizontally 90 degrees from my body. I felt the burn for a long time and then I had to lower the bow. One snort and gone. This might be a good acorn area or else they were coming for water. Going to set up and see if any bucks show later.

Well good luck! I’m thinking I’m not where the big ones will be this evening but I had no choice. The other oak ridges on this section would have had my wind and thermals blowing down into the cattails. The plan was to move closer tomorrow and near water but the wife informed me that my 13 yr old pup is struggling to walk today so I am staying home to care for him.

Finally got set up about 20 minutes ago and had a 100 inch 8 walk through from bedding about 50 yards away. Awesome sighting for a opening day sit!

First hunt of the season !! Early antlerless season. I kicked 4 does off the plot when I came in. Good luck to all.

Hunting a travel corridor between bedding and food. Wind is wrong for the dropper so I’m going after a slammer 8. He was here this morning 8-) To sweeten the pot even more, the 8 that runs with the drop went through in daylight on the 15th. The wacky racked buck is around but just after shooting hours. Feels good to have multiple targets for once!!

Shot will be 10 yards should one present itself!

If tonight doesn’t work I head 150 yards closer to bedding tomorrow night.

I think my neighbor kicked my target buck passed me at 4:50p. Ran through a small opening I had and into corn. Wouldn’t stop, definitely one of the bucks I’m after. My setup was right but wasn’t planning on the pressure. He didn’t run off too hard. Big 6x5 in the 150s, lots of pics of him here. Possible my wind swirled and that was the issue but he didn’t look in my direction when he checked his back trail from the corn.

Woods surrounding the marsh I’m hunting was logged since I scouted last April. I’m within 60 yards of two beds and I setup pretty quietly.

The little nub came back through and brought mom. She got a pass. At some point this season I’ll take a doe to give to family, but not today.

Ended up seeing five total for the evening. 10 minutes left I had a basket five point and a fork come in and work the acorns underneath my tree. Other than that no big guys showed up on the oaks that I was at. And all five deer came from the opposite direction I was expecting travel. However they did work off towards the oak ridges that I wanted to sit but was afraid of the wind and thermals.
