Good luck finding the freezer queen

Lmao. Playing around on the phone trying to get a picture from the stand uploaded, two decent sized bucks snuck up on me at about 30 yards away. When I finally noticed them, one was already stomping at me. So as quickly as silently as I could, I stuck the phone in my pocket so I could pick up the bow. Wasn't quiet enough, and the stomper bolted and the other one followed.

Luckily for me (unluckily for one of them), they only ran about 30 yards but stayed at the same distance from me. The first one was still hype alert, so I decided to take a shot at the second one. Looked like a clean shot near the upper front shoulder, but that shot of adrenaline from the buck fever had me shaking like I had cerebral palsy. I'll give it about an hour before climbing down to assess the damage.

I'm not having any luck finding blood or a deer. Been searching the beds and trails where I last seen it.

Killeatrepeat that sounds good! When in doubt back out, you’ve got all day! That’s the best part of a morning hunt.

Noreast that’s tough. Are you able to get a tracking dog?

I just shot my broad heads. Hitting about 2” low at 20 so need to adjust it a hair. I’m fine with dead on or 1” low. Might fire another few after lunch then it’s time to go get some more intel. 30’ up pre-season is my favorite place to be!

Same. The knock lighted when it left the bow, but no sign of it or the deer. I scoured the 15 acres that I'm allowed on (as well as one can search 15 acres in a couple of hours), then walked the circumference of the property, hoping to see the river of blood. Did not see one. Shocking, I know. Made it back to the stand. I'll sit until sunset, and hopefully I'll find the bloodless arrow then.

Do you think a dog would help after I've walked all through the area for the past 2 + hours?

Might not be worth the trouble or expense.

I've been pretty quiet on here for the past few weeks. School just started back up so I've been teaching all day, and working on grad school stuff at night. Even being so busy, I've carved out quite a bit of time to scout and have found a handful of really good deer between Pennsylvania and West Virginia. I'm feeling good about WV, but am having a little bit of trouble really nailing down any of the PA bucks I"ve been glassing. My goal was to kill a buck in each tate during the opening week, but I'm starting to think it's definitely going to take longer, but I guess time will tell
I still have some time to get things pinned down, but it's going to be tough now the acorns are starting to drop.
Anything worth doing, is worth over doing.

I would contact the tracker and ask him. He might have a lot of confidence in his dog. He might not charge much either.

Found my first velvet rub of the year! Not a real high rub but exciting nonetheless.
