Re: 2021-2022 BEAST Buck Lineup
Went on a trip with my cousin and son. Decided on a blind trip to some KY public. None of us has ever been to KY before or anything like it. We are FL flatlanders. I got to put one down this evening. Had several opportunities but this guy was too much for this ole FL boy to handle. This is a completely different world to us. Great experience. Two days left so gonna try to help get them one too.

11/15. Got him within 15 yds right before closing time with my Mathews Vertix compound. First year hunting mobile really paid off.

Re: 2021-2022 BEAST Buck Lineup
11/12/21 KS public
Had a bunch of pictures of this buck on a field edge. Smaller piece of public so I knew there was only a few spots he could have been bedding. Decided to set up in a nice funnel between two of these bedding areas. We had a crazy windy night, 20-30 MPH with gusts over 40 MPH.
He came out chasing a doe at 4:45 but went directly behind my stand and I didn't have time to turn around before he went through my opening back there. He then went off to my right and made a scrape and a rub 30 yards away from me but there was too much brush on that side of my stand so I had no shot. At this point I thought I was likely out of the game because the buck was working his way away from me.
But then the doe trotted off who was right in front of me. The buck decided he wanted to take her trail from where she took off rather than just chase her directly so he walked back towards me. He gave me an opening at 25 yards and I took my shot. I wasn't sure of my shot and he ran off 25 yards to a ditch at which point I couldn't see him anymore. The arrow looked like a good lung hit but because I wasn't sure of the shot we decided to wait until the AM.
Not much blood up until we found him 125 yards away. Shot was a little high so I might have only clipped or even missed the first lung. I'm now 2/2 on public giants my first years trying it after switching from private and couldn't be happier.

First deer ever. First buck I’ve ever seen in the wild. Took him on public land with a stand by tag using a muzzleloader on the last day of the first IL shotgun season.

Re: 2021-2022 BEAST Buck Lineup
Been hunting 25 years and never shot a buck. Personally I have never targeted bucks because I was always told they don't taste good. I have always targeted 3-4yr old does. Well I came across some of Dan's videos late last year and have been studying A LOT!! I decided this year I wanted to be cool just like all the other guys and show off a big buck picture too! LMAO! I've learned SOOOO much from Dan and the guys. I've seen some monsters out there in the marsh and finally got a chance at a shooter. He may not be a monster but I sure feel good about putting him in the freezer. And so far he is delicious! I shot him 15 min. into opening day at the Horicon marsh.
