Yep. Feels similar to putting a nice deposit in your bank account. It never gets old ;)

I know a lot of people say that it takes around 4 years to see success with Beast style hunting methods. I think the biggest indicator that you finally made it is when you value a scouting trip or an observation sit as much or more than the hunt itself.

Made a day trip today scouting some hill country. Things are greening up fast and with the warmer weather finally getting here(along with the ticks) I am gonna pull the pin on my Southern WI scouting for the year. I might make a day up north yet depending on how much green is popping out up there. I had to skip several properties that had trucks by them, I assumed they were turkey hunting and didnt want to risk messing their hunt up. I ventured off to a totally new area that I had only internet scouted prior, and so far it appears to have been a darn good choice. Found some good buck mature buck sign and minimal hunter sign and also several new leads to look at next time!

I am coming up on the 3 yr mark, but I agree. I was scouting over the weekend and as I found a good area walked to where a few buck beds should be and sure enough they were there. It’s very satisfying when you kneel down pull a few hairs out of the bed, look around, and realize that you are understanding the sign instead of wondering what the deer are doing.

Have barely made it out this spring so it felt especially good to hit the woods.

Left early this morning to get an important kill tree prepped. Made about a 10 yard move from where I was last year but that move meant a TON of buckthorn to deal with. It’s nasty back there. I was set up on the hard edge before but it left me out in the open a little too much.

Took forever but it’s ready 8-) it’s definitely one of the top ten best rut stands I’ve ever hung. Access is also prepped and ready. Can’t wait to hunt it!

I've started glassing a little bit, I know there isn't much antler development yet but I figured why not. This evening I saw a potential shooter on public that I spent a lot of time on this spring. He had fuzzy coke cans on top of his head, so that made me happy.

Spent quite a bit of time last season hunting a really big buck for my area, but just didn’t know the property well enough to catch up to him once the hunting pressure ramped up.

This Spring I made sure to remedy that and walked every inch of the place, and found what I figured to be a spot where he would spend a lot of time this summer.

Threw a camera in there last week and got a picture of him two nights ago. Haven’t been too anxious to see what bucks on June 1st will look like but this guy is going to be impressive.

That’s looking pretty good!

I haven’t had one in a little while… he was just starting. Won’t be long!
