Cool share!

Thanks man! Resisting the urge to check some of the other cams too early.

Truck scouting has been very good the last three nights. 3 good bucks the first night. And 4 the next. Last night was kinda quiet until I pulled up to a field with a stud I've been watching/trying to hunt the last 2 years. He's back and sporting a 6" droptine. As I'm watching him from the spotting from 3/4 mile away I'm torn between watching him til dark getting put of there before someone sees me watching him. Watched him for 5 min or so and got outta there before any cars came by. Love this time of year good ol velvet rut!
It only takes 15 seconds for the hunt of a lifetime.

Dont worry about that stuff. It is hard for sure but after not running them last year, the best thing I can say is trust yourself. We put the cams up bc its a good spot or we think they are good spots. Checking the cam or seeing something that already happened doesnt change that. Just hunt it and check it when you can.

Saw 6 huge bucks last night right before dark on a private corn field that was knee high. The are im pretty sure the same buck group i saw last year was about a mile away at this same time period.

Pretty amazing that so many survived the season.

Can't hunt anywhere near it but my jaw hit the floor when I was driving by on the way home.

First time attempting a mock scrape. In three weeks, it’s already starting to get some attention, and this early in the year. Chose a bench that looked ideal to funnel wildlife down to food sources and water due to cliffs and deadfalls in other directions.

Went scouting-driving to a few wmas today.

One of my best areas is being logged a area I hunted a booner in two years ago.
3 others I hunted in previous seasons are set to be logged.

It seems my February scouting never works something happens to 20 percent or more of them by season.

I still feel confident about some of my areas but a few I can't risk depending on. They very likely will be gone within the next 90 days.

I run into logging every year to some degree but it keeps getting harder theirs just fewer and fewer places avaliable to hunt. It's pretty demotivating the human element of deer hunting can be quite annoying.

Been doing quite a bit of looking at stand setups and locating new potential spots to fill last week's setback.
Planning entry routes.

Due to gas prices I've been scouting alot closer to home and planning my trips.

I've yet to see a fawn this year hope they are ok in this heat. Usually I see a few the first week of July.

Thanks for sharing about the mock scrap, I have been wanting to give it a go.

Did a bit of scouting today on a new piece of property and found good signs. There is a small pond next to a ag field currently planted with corn. Around the pond is pretty thick on the outside next to the field and on both points. Found a heavy trail and a few faint trails near by as well along with some big buck tracks crossing and along the edge. Went down a bit further and found a long line of rubs, some old some from last year as I believe. Along with the deer sign I found some persimmon trees and acorn starting to grow about 100 yards away. I put two cameras up and going to wait and see until I come up with a game plan.. starting to get a bit excited for the season to start.
