A trick I like to use: Mark my sticks with a permanent marker exactly where they need to be to wrap around the stick and catching the button in the exact right spot for packing on the stand. It shows up surprisingly well at night when packing up in the dark.

Cool deal. The only sorta trick I have is putting a tight fitting rubber band on all my sticks. So once hung I can just put the tag end of the strap in the rubber band to keep from blowing around.
