That's awesome. Let's say October 30th to Nov 10th for both 2020 and 2021. Thanks so much!

OCT 30 2020 - UNDERFOOT 12 NOON (FULL MOON)
NOV 10 2020 - SUNRISE 6:45am / OVERHEAD 8am

OCT 30 2021 - SUNRISE 7:30am / OVERHEAD 8:30am
NOV 10 2021 - SUNRISE 6:30am / UNDERFOOT 5:30am // SUNSET 5pm / OVERHEAD 6pm

Id say everything I just posted is great for the dates youre talking about. Id be curious to know the TC pic times and the scenario of what he was doing but all in all.. im glad they match well so I dont look seem crazy lol

I have or had a buck like youre talking about. He would only come through Halloween - Late Nov. Very sporadic.. except 1 specific wind.. The first season I shot him and he got away. The problem after that was catching him again. Also --- they dont always walk right in front of the camera. They are there more than we think

FINALLY! I saw him last year again and he was a dogging a Doe, stopped right in the thickest brush possible and ran off again. Ill probably never see him again

That is great info. Could you also provide 11/5/2020 and 11/2/2021.

Regarding this buck, I believe we are in his home range, but I believe his core is on property that I don't have access to hunt on. The ag fields are close by where I hunt and so I believe he comes late October and sets up camp for the rut as we have a lot of doe bedding nearby the fields. In 2020 I saw him the first time working a scrape on Oct 30th. I saw him roughly 10 times over the next two weeks, but he was always 2 steps ahead of me. Last year big sign showed up (a cedar roughly 15" width rubbed and a small apple tree nearby broke in half) on Halloween. Last year I hit him, but it was a poor shot and he was quartering away fast. I do have pics of him from this summer, I know he survived and seemingly without much issue from my poor shot. I keep a diary, but I have never included info on moon phase. I really appreciate your insight.

On 11/5/2020 he was up and around and actually came out of a strip of woods at 4:30pm in the afternoon. On 11/2/2021 he was up and around and came out of the same strip of woods at 6pm.

It would look like 11/5/2020 times up very well with your moon data. Also of note that was a very warm early November day as we had highs close to 70 with hazy sun and a east north east wind. It was the kind of early Nov day when I would expect buck movement to be limited to darkness due to the 'heat' and I was not in a stand - ha. The weather on 11/2/2021 was cool, mid 40's for high temps with west south west winds and more humidity. I was in a stand, though I was roughly 200 yards from where he came out of the woods. Of note, from a weather standpoint, those 2 days had the highest pressure of the preceding 4 in each respective year.

Love me some moon days, lots of bucks shot on those days, just as many not on moon days but I hunt em when I can. Getting some other guys I hunt with into them too and they are starting to see the light. Not like its a game changer or anything but when applied to the right situation, area, or timing they can sure help.

Thanks for the information,,,,,,,,,,,,, I remember when Jeff Murry came up with the idea. I also remember, at a seminar, that both Myles Keller, and Bob Fraztkes group kept notes on moon movements, themselves....... The only way I ever beat the full moon, was use the light to my advantage and get into stands at 3am, so I had a chance at just first legal light,,,,,,, however I did have some mid day movement on full moons, if it was cloudy................. I am by far no expert on the subject to lend any advice,,,,, again thanks for the research, going into my notebook.

Whenever I have free time I circle back around to this an check historical times using the method outlined in this post against times I've seen buck movement (in season or out of season). Back in June I saw a bachelor group with a real dandy (12 visible pts) and later on my drive in two other spots saw buck on their feet in daylight.

Sunrise is 5:07 AM on June 20th 2022.

Moon OH @ 6:45 AM

I was driving around 7 AM and saw deer all over the place, including several buck. I believe this lends credence to the theory based on 1 hr prior to sunrise - 2 hr after sunrise for the moon component.

I think Bill Vale does a great job explaining moon phase influences on episode 216 on the Big Buck Registry podcast. I just happened to be listening to it this morning and saw this thread.
On my deathbed, I will receive total consciousness. So I have that going for me, which is nice!

Related to this topic. Would you hunt one of your best spots on Saturday morning. With a premo weather front moving through. The right wind. But the full moon is that day and I expect buck to be back to bed early?

With the caviot of knowing you will not be able to hunt this stand again for at least 3 weeks. Due to other hunting trip obligations.

Also knowing he was in the area recently but not in daylight?

Also knowing that there zero chance of anyone else going in there?

So is it worth the risk?

Enjoy the trip and hit it in 3 weeks
