Re: One Line of Advice
I tell you what this is a pretty good read. I ain’t leaving my regular hunting grounds this year and im going to be referring back to this one. This is just another notch in the hunting beast belt, this really is an awesome site. Where else can you go to get motivation like this?

You've got nothing to lose, just go for it.
I've been doing an out of state hunt every year the last 3 years and have learned so much that I have applied to my home area by having that go in and have no regrets mentality away from home.

Re: One Line of Advice
I live by the ole Al Davis motto. Just win baby!
By that I do everything in my power to succeed and let the chips fall where they may with no regrets. When I travel I try to maximize my odds. I go to kill a buck period! Not sight seeing, camping, or bird watching. It doesn’t always work out but that is the only objective.
Typically I don’t hunt mornings early season. But on the trip I just got back from I hunted mornings, midday, and evenings. I only did this cause my time was very limited and I wanted to squeeze out every possible opportunity.
My advice is when the going gets tough and it will. Stay positive and remind yourself why you are there. Then ask yourself have you done everything you possibly could to accomplish your goal. Plus a bad day in Iowa has got to be better than a good day in the big woods

When I’m down there I’ll get frustrated at times and things won't always go as planned. What’s one line of advice you would remind me for when I face adversity? When I need a pick me up I'll think back to this thread.

Good luck! Shoot what will make you happy. I'm pretty lucky living in Iowa and I shoot the first buck that gets me excited. When it gets tough put your head down and keep going. Also after nov 14th the pressure drops off like a rock.

I appreciate this thread - need it myself.
This is not original to me, but I've repeated this to myself so many times that I'm thinking about getting it tattooed on my arm.
