As MN_Deer says above, pressure is key.

Went to two different areas separated by probably 60 miles.

Location 1: Deer on their feet almost an hour before sundown, good bucks moving, shooter and other deer not far off the road on public and it took a long time for them to get annoyed by the flashlight. (it’s a serious flashlight)

Location 2: Higher pressure area. Much later at night, deer further off the road, hit the deck so to speak when laying in the beans (flattened their heads down), then got up and left just after I stopped. Didn’t go far, but their fuse was about 10x shorter than in the low pressure area. These were a bachelor trio of 2.5 year old bucks.
