Yep agree with this, looking for places other hunters wouldn't dream of hunting is the way to go. Bucks use their nose to find these places, we have to use our feet and our brains.

I have an observation from hunting offbeat, overlooked property.
A farmer gave me permission to hunt a 8 acre field with a highway and a railroad for 2 sides. I killed a deer from it, yes.
But, the highway drone and noise pollution kept it from being an enjoyable place for hunting. Not to mention, a deer could have died in someone's front yard.
You don't have to be the best, just do your best.

You’re going to realize that some places are great to hunt mature bucks while others aren’t worth driving to.
The places worth driving to will have pockets of good hunting, and areas not worth stepping out of the truck.
The pockets of good hunting generally have a timeframe (early season, pre-rut, rut, late season)

Then we have the Unicorns. I’ve never found one, but it’s supposed to be an area that holds mature bucks year-round. Picture a place Helen Keller could tag out anytime, every year.
