10 minutes from a good amount of public. All my spots are within a half hour or so.

If I stay at the farm, walk out the door to hunt. From town, all hunting is about 20-30 minutes, public and private ( though I don’t bother with the public).

15 minutes to one that doesn’t have much deer on it. An hour plus for most of the areas

I'm actually thinking I might take a few work days off later this summer. We're still very busy, taking a day off only makes the next day back harder, but around mid-July we should be lightening up at least for a little while. I've got something like 4 weeks of time off built up, and will build up about 2 more before end of year. Can only carry over 1, so I've got 4-5 weeks of time I either use or they pay it out at the end of the year.

There are four public land areas that usually have good sign that I want to scout out better too. And I could sweat off a few more lbs in the process since Hotlanta summer heat has hit now.

I feel for ya, my friend.

Same here. Very lucky to have a lot of options and different types of terrain.

I usually do a western hunt or two every year, farthest I've been for that was an elk hunt last year that was 28 hours each way. Here at home most of my hunting is done 45 minutes to 2 hours away. I could do alot of hunting closer, but in big woods I feel like you're really looking for %1 of the land to stack the odds. There's a ton of land within a few miles of my house but most of it is crap habitat. I sleep in my truck and tents alot.
