Yes, last time I did it was a free download. Haven't had to do it for quite a few years though.



I've helped friends/coworkers with file recovery in the past but I generally rely on Linux utilities for forensic recovery:

You can use a "live" Kali cd to boot from and run foremost. Probably a bit technical for the average Joe however. I'd be interested to recover the images on that wiped card, was obviously wiped for a reason. PM me if you would like an assist Dan.


I ran Ubuntu on my last notebook and really liked it, so I'm somewhat familiar. I didn't run a dual install with Win, but I know it exists. Good to know about the file recovery tool.
