Track experts: possible slob or not ? Thoughts ?

Unread postby Mat-Ch-155 » Wed Aug 10, 2022 6:24 am

Found this track last sunday. I thought it was a small moose possibly, but the stride was not very long. It’s also in the mud, so there could be a sliding factor. Track looked fresh and was on a pounded deer trail. The boot is size 7. My hand is about four inches wide at the joints.

I wanted to show someone else to verify my assumptions. I know judging tracks can be very tricky. Thanks in advance.

That last photo was best. But still not enough to really assume anything. Maybe one day soon you will cross paths with that deer.
I'm reason they call it hunting and not shooting.

I would say no - iv been fooled quite a few times bc of a muddy track. They look bigger and can splay wider

I would check the area on a different day

Season is over here. We pull the card of our cameras. It’s possibly this deer, not real slob fest of a buck, but a good one.

Forgot to mention it’s only a few hundred feet from where we saw the track this summer.
