Historical/ community rub
I found this 6years ago and it was not being used anymore due to branches growing in all twisted. I think it was poking their eyes. So this spring I trimmed it all back, and it’s being used again. It’s out in the open in the middle of a football field sized marsh. It’s between 2 suspected bedding areas over 100yards away each but is also a well used travel corridor. More so in the rut. Pretty neat I thought.

That’s some good proactive work!
Do you think something similar can happen with scrapes? I found around a 10’ or so bushy tree. There were about 3 scrape looking spots around the edge, with branches @ the height for licking branches. I’ll probably give it a sit next Oct. due to my curiosity.

Sorry. Maybe if they get used year after year. I’m not going to bother hunting this rub. Out in the open, in between bedding areas and travel corridors. My guess is this is a evening spot for deer. I did shoot this years buck 30 yards from it, but I grunted it back after it walked through in the dark grunting at some bedding areas.

Thanks! I can’t wait for next season to check this out. I found a scrape line nearby, that was active in early season. I guess I need to find all the trails coming to the bush to make setups .

A photo for clarification. I thought I had added it to my community.
