Re: Spotlight
I used a corded Brinkman for years but since I bought this one a few years ago from Menards I rarely use the old one anymore.
Cordless, range is great and really surprised how long the battery lasts. Very happy with mine and I’m pretty picky about spotlights. Used it for a few hours tonight. Deer were out like crazy right before the snow started.

Re: Spotlight
Figured I’d bump this thread. I was looking at lights while I was doing some Christmas browsing and it got me thinking. Back in the day my dad and I used to use a giant corded spotlight like you’d see on an old police cruiser. Nowadays that’s kind of comical. I don’t even know if we knew what I lumen was back then. I know I never heard it.
These days you can find a rechargeable flashlight that fits in a cup holder that’s 3500 lumens. I see the one above is 2000. How many lumens do you think is enough, and do you think that the size of light itself makes a difference?

Failure to plan is planning for failure.

Re: Spotlight
I already had a bunch of Ryobi tools for the house and a handful of batteries for them, so I picked up one of the Ryobi spotlights. I think it's 3000 lumens, and it works pretty well for shining. It was cheap too, 60 bucks I believe. Probably better ones though if your looking to spend the money. I don't shine a whole lot so didn't want to invest much.

Re: Spotlight
I still have my old Coleman 750,000 beam candlepower spotlight. Don’t know what that translates to in lumens, but it will light up anything within 1/2 mile

Re: Spotlight
This thing is a monster.. bought mine 6-7 years ago not sure they still made them. They do just found it on amazon. It takes about 5- 10 seconds for the bulb to light up to full brightness if it’s cold but it really lights up a field. Was recommended by a beast member back then

Re: Spotlight
Yea that’s like what we used to used. You could toast a sandwich on that thing I bet. These days with led’s I think we could upgrade a bit.
I was wondering how something like this would do:
https://doublesteps.com/product/3500-lumen-flashlight/
The question I guess would be is 3500 lumens quite bright enough. With the 8000 above there’s no question. I don’t see another purpose for a flashlight this bright though so if it doesn’t cut it then I just have a really really bright flashlight
