Deer fishing and other animals

Unread postby Uncle Lou » Wed May 25, 2022 2:59 am

I hope I put this in the right place. I was on the Saginaw River on Sunday with a good friend. We were so close to Saginaw Bay I just figured that I should put under great lakes.

Anyway, it is always cool when you go hunting for something and see the intended target. Like if you went coyote hunting and saw one, you could feel like your in the game. When you go turkey hunting you don't want to see pheasants or deer only, you want to see targets. Well when you go to the Saginaw River fishing for deer you want to see some. Wish granted, but couldn't catch her. Starting to think they don't like nighcrawlers

Also saw and caught some cats, and some sheep. Many of those, they like worms. Actually got tired of unhooking them.

Then finally caught about 5 incidental walleyes. Biggest was ~26". We decided to keep those even though we sure wanted to catch that doe.

That doe actually swam all the way across near the mouth just upstream of the bay. Had to zoom a bit that is why its pretty blurry.

Very cool! amazing how well they can swim, especially in that current. go to know the crawler harness bite is heating up too, always a fun way to fish. Trip over there or to Erie is in my near future.
