Been hunting this piece of public for a few yrs now. Still having trouble consistently finding deer. Any info on how to approach hunting this would be appreciated

Re: Finding bedding
I blacked out the coordinates on your map for you.
There are a few places that pop out to me, but Id rather let the guys that are used to these areas chime in.
The oxbow in the creek, the hard transition lines, and the tips of the points of trees facing out into the crp is where I would start

Re: Finding bedding
It's a little hard to tell and I'm definitely not an expert. But it looks like an island of trees or different type of terrain in the upper right near the railroad? I would see what that's about, what type of trees.
Twigs in my hair, don't care.

Re: Finding bedding
Here’s a little better pic of that island of trees not sure how big the trees are but it’s about a 100 yards off a bike path. there’s a lot of foot traffic on that path for other hunters. I always avoid it because of that.

Re: Finding bedding
I guess I could give it a sit and see what happens. Looks like a lot of trails through there.

Re: Finding bedding
I am by no means an expert but I have read and listened to quite a bit that indicates any area close to human traffic could be a hot spot. The deer may bed there or hang out based solely on the fact that people never seem to venture off the trail. If it were me I would setup over a couple critter trails and see who comes by. I have been surprised more than once about what traffic is within 30-50 yards of the fence line my live-stock guardian dog patrols.

Re: Finding bedding
I'd also walk the creek and see where they cross. Then figure out where they are going to / coming from.
