Pasture to deer hunting question

Unread postby Moose » Thu Nov 03, 2022 1:21 am

I have a 5 acre piece of pasture that is currently being grazed that I would like to hunt next year. I have a highway to the west, ag field to the north, pasture to the east and more AG to the south with river bottom. On the west side over the highway is also all ag. Should I just let it grow wild for bedding or plant something?

Moose, I'm not really sure what to tell you, but I would suggest searching for some of these questions on YouTube, specifically the See More Deer and Growing Deer TV (with Dr. Grant Woods). They both talk about habitat adjustments for deer and I'm pretty sure Dr. Woods has multiple videos specifically talking about re-purposing cattle fields for wildlife.
