Re: WI Zone C To Get Hounds
I can’t help but think it’s going to kill the tag every year or 2 opportunity zone C gives us but there’s zero reason hounds shouldn’t be allowed in the central forest.
It will be interesting to see if the hound guys can catch up to some of the big ol boars that only hit baits at night in Jackson county.

If the tag draw slips in C, I am definitely going back to Zone D. Zone D is a paradise compared to Zone C.
The cool units are the new ones. If I remember correctly, they are subdividing. And no one knows that proposal yet

Re: WI Zone C To Get Hounds
My hunting dogs aren’t hounds so I don’t have a dog in the fight but curious besides selfish reasons of competing against bait sitters what reasons is there for not allowing hounds in the central forest?
We’re talking hundreds of thousands of acres of public land.

Killing a bear in zone C is hard enough without dogs. And trespassing complaints would increase dramatically

Re: WI Zone C To Get Hounds
No hounds for Zone C. My guess it will be harder to draw a tag in C. The days of drawing a tag consecutive years are over.
On the other hand, E and F will likely be closer to a guaranteed draw. F definitely. Good luck getting on bears though.

Good, there is not enough public land for hounds.
