I’m looking for a bullet recommendation for my 30-06 for black bear. Both are 180g and shoot equally well out of my rifle now that it is broken in.
Shot distance would probably be about100 yards or so. Maybe less (Baiting is illegal here)
I have both on hand and know that either will do the job if I put it in the right place but is one bullet better than the other in terms of expansion and dumping the energy into the chest cavity of a black bear.

Hi Bob,
Either of your bullets will kill a bear. They aren't a very tough animal unless you make a bad shot.
You've got a lot of power at your finger tips and close to 1,500+ foot pounds of energy at 100 yards - no bear is gonna handle that. Put it in the boiler room and figure out where you'll hang the rug.
