My wife now has 9 points in zone A, I think this a ridiculously long time to wait for a tag. I feel like there should be a landowner preference that would allow you to draw sooner.

You could make a case for that if you were restricted to only hunt your own land.

I usually do just hunt my own land for bear. I wonder why they have never made that an option before?

Because the dnr is only gonna cut you a break for property damage, well when 99.9 percent of the landowners that would get tags sooner would still be baiting, only bringing more bears onto your property, it would be hard to justify the property damage.

I'd be all for it if the landowner had to hunt there own property where baits and scents would be illegal. Then if your shooting bears, your property has a bear problem.

I had 12 points and now show 0. Zone B. My buddy who I will be hunting with also shows 0 and was at 12.

Hard to believe baiting opens up in a month and a half. Anyone going with a guide is getting a great deal this year with the way gas prices are. The DIY hunters will once again have the satisfaction of experiencing the whole process yourself.

Hard to believe baiting is already open, I would have to bring a snow shovel to open and bait. Still lots of snow up here in certain areas.

Depends where you are hunting, zone d has drawn some tags on 2 pts two years in a row.

Amazing the amount of snow just a week and a half ago in certain areas of Northern Bayfield County, 7 days later no snow at all.
