Zone c bears in Wisc.

Zone c bears in Wisc.
I have worked out a deal with a guide in zone C to bait my spots for me. He is old school and dont get on face book or have a website,, so he is low on bookings if anybody wants to book a hunt with him. Me and Rick will be there opening week. I figure most of you already have your plans made, but just thought I would throw this out there. His cost is pretty reasonable and he baits often enough to keep the bears active. I really wanted to hunt my old spots I have history with and there right in his baiting area so he is baiting for me. I had to smile when there was active fresh bear sign at the spots that I did not bait the last 2 years... Talked with Jeff quite a bit. Knowledgeable honest guy who knows bears.

Good luck Dan…. It is amazing bears continue to check out old bait sites from years ago. Just like cadaver dogs they still can smell bait that was once there.

I’ll be following this. I have 6 or 7 preference points and figured it would be another 5-6 before I draw the A or B zones, but would be happy to give a guide some business sooner if there is decent success rates to be had in zone C.

Shoot me his info if you get time, I might try him out next year. I have 8 points now, should easily draw a tag in C next year.

With 8 points I would put in for zone A, much higher success %. Zone c only takes two years, sometimes not even

I realize this, I hunted A 8 years ago and killed a nice boar. Just looking for a different area to try.

I too have 8 points but no longer live in Wisconsin so need to find someone to bait. Will give him a call.

I have 3 baits out for me and Rick. All 3 have shooters bears coming in. 2 baits have good activity, one is getting hit more infrequently. As of this week all have daytime activity. But out side of this week its been a lot of night activity.
