1st Season on Martana >>> The NH WAY

For those who have not picked up on me buying 53 acres - Martana is what my family decided to name the property...

There are a respectable amount of wild game on this property & bear is certainly one of them. Neighbor has sent me pics from their deck (1/3 mile away), as well as indicating to me where they enter / exit the majority of the time. Great time saver to shorten the learning curve!

I was lucky enough to glass a little, put cameras out & follow piles of dung to a few areas which leads to a bowl of Blackberry bushes & acorns.

Got to stand by 5:30 and @ 9:30 had these little fellas to watch for 20 minutes

Sat until 10:30 & did chores, ate & napped, figuring I would get back @ 5'ish. When I woke up from catching some zzzz's, I looked @ cell cam & target bear walked bye while I was resting...

Gotta love it!

I just posted this thread and look to my left & Jakes target bear is sniffing me out.
Bad wind for this bears approach.

Old-old Sow, no teeth just fangs.
Jake is FLYIN HIGH!!!

He used my browning bar .30-06 180gr core lock. Straight on neck shot @ 40 yards. Split the top of the heart - dropped in her tracks.
