Birthday Turkey

Unread postby muddy » Tue Apr 20, 2010 9:41 am

Iowa Bird #1 is sleeping and Wrestles with Turkeys again lives up to his name as a spine shot still needs some boot stomping!

So today is my birthday and I got into a great area that has lots of birds. One night while scouting I got right up in a couple birds grills. It was easy to see they were dominant as they continually beat up every other bird in the area. One of them had to go to protect the hunting ground integrity. This morning I watched them as they drove off 4 other gobblers, which REALLY peeved me off. I had to take Abi to the doctor @ 1130 so when they finally came through around 1030 I was very happy. One well placed arrow and the bigger of the two lay flopping till I booted him. I quickly tagged and ran outta there and made it to the doctor in time.

Then to make my birthday even more special my wife and I found out today that baby #3 is going to be a boy! Woot!

Good job, looks like "the boot" took off his fan too!!
A buck will see you three times, and hear you twice, but he's only gonna smell you once.
