No room for anymore Turkey fans
I was wondering what everyone does or if they have any ideas on what to do with Turkey fans after you have already accumulated plenty from years past? I only have so much wall space in the house and no room in garage for the fans. Just trying to get some ideas because I feel like it's a waste to just throw away fans in the future.

Me too! I have a pile of them and could never find a good home for them. I just keep stacking them up in a corner. Same with beards, I just pile them up on a shelf. It would be cool to see some good ideas to display these things in a trophy room or whatever.

Several years ago, I went online and decided to give away a ton of fans! Decoy and fanning are also great uses for the fans.

I dont do fans, just keep the beards and spurs now. The kids want fans so I dry fans for them. Its redneck and I love to see my wife's eye twitch when she sees them.

Re: No room for anymore Turkey fans
I’ve never kept one and have killed quite a few birds. Usually keep beards and spurs, but even those just pile up in the corner of the shed. In truth, unless I find one with impressive enough spurs and beard(s) to full body mount, I’d much rather be able to blow life back into them to be able to play the game again.

Re: No room for anymore Turkey fans
I thought about using fans for decoys and fanning. I seen some mounts on pinterest where they stack fans one on top of the other. My boys hunt now that they are old enough so bagging 3 or more birds a year the fans would stack up quick. I need more wall space lol

I only have 2 fans - my first gun kill and my first bow kill. Since then I only keep beards and spurs.

Just beards and spurs for me. I cut the spurs off and put them on a rawhide loop. Never have kept a fan for some reason. A buddy of mine has a shadow box with all his beards which looks pretty cool.

I honestly throw a lot of mine away. This year I was lucky enough to tag 5 birds, and my fiance used all of the feathers from the fans to make wedding decorations.
Anything worth doing, is worth over doing.

Just saw this thread. Was going to mention selling them to crafters. I know of an artist who paints images of other wildlife on turkey feathers.
I made this stacked display:
