Turkey Scouting

Unread postby mipubbucks24 » Tue Apr 07, 2020 1:31 pm

Anyone turkey scouting? or for the states that are open anyone getting out hunting?

I’ve called 2 birds in one on Sunday and the other today. Season is not open yet I’m just getting out trying to find birds. The first bird gobbled twice and came from a pretty long ways, the second never Gobbled at all, his lady lit up pretty close and I was able to call her in with him right behind. My 4 year old daughter was with me so that was pretty cool, don’t know how much she actually saw. I have not really been trying to call them in as just trying to locate birds. Just both times after a little calling they came rolling in. So who is getting out in the woods during this shutdown and finding birds?

I have been out a couple times. Once to take my 7 yo on his first hunt. Heard tons of gobbles but birds were still real flocked up.

Made it out for opening weekend myself and should have killed a couple birds just buggered by other hunters and other birds.

I plan on heading back out soon hopefully this weekend.
