Roosting Tip

Unread postby BigHunt » Fri May 01, 2020 1:25 am

heres a quick little tip for guys hung up on roosting toms at night. half the battle for public land turkey hunters, is being able to get on a gobbling turkey in the morning with out the added stress of other hunters and just plane and simple knowing where one is to hunt. from what im seeing is, most hunters are out there way to early in the evening hooting. its all about timing! ive been roosting birds for 15 plus years and one thing that holds true is timing....most birds wont gobble until they are in the tree for the night. some might if they are extremely fired up. some actually gobble by them selves and I don't have to hoot at all lol. two key points are knowing the area they are in and TIMING when you roost.
